Geert Schoots

Geert Schoots holds extensive experience in information technology and security management, currently serving as a part-time Information Communication Technology Teacher at Rijn IJssel since September 2022. In a longstanding role since December 2001, Geert operates as Chief Information Security Officer for Provincie Gelderland, overseeing the security of the organization's information systems, along with responsibilities as a Data Architect, Data Manager, Applications Manager, and Infrastructure Engineer across various projects. Additionally, Geert had a tenure as Interim Chief Information Security Officer at BIJ12 and co-founded Yarbot, a venture focused on internet concepts for the North African market. Earlier career roles included System Engineer at Avantage and ISP Servicedesk Agent for KPN. Geert obtained a Bachelor of ICT in Business Informatics from HAN University of Applied Sciences between 2005 and 2009.
