Carolyn Chisholm

Carolyn Chisholm serves as the General Manager of External Affairs Canada at Rio Tinto since November 2018, overseeing government relations across national and provincial levels and managing stakeholder engagements with industry associations. Prior to this role, Carolyn held positions including Director of External Affairs and Principal Advisor in the Office of the Vice President for Canada, where strategic advice on policy, budgeting, and corporate relations was provided. Carolyn's earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of Policy and Outreach at Global Public Affairs, where leadership was given in developing practice groups and managing high-visibility issues. Additionally, Carolyn worked as a Senior Policy Advisor with the Government of Canada, offering strategic advice to a federal minister. Educational background includes a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Political Science from St. Francis Xavier University.
