Erwin Leonardi

Erwin Leonardi, Ph.D., is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in leading data analytics teams and projects, currently serving as the Data Science Team Lead at Rio Tinto since November 2017. Erwin has architected and deployed analytics solutions that significantly enhance operational efficiency and value, exemplified by a predictive modeling solution for rail assets that is expected to generate multi-million dollar savings. Prior to Rio Tinto, Erwin held leadership roles at Rolls-Royce, where responsibilities included managing data analytics capabilities and overseeing the establishment of a joint research lab with Nanyang Technological University. Erwin’s earlier career includes positions at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories and various academic roles, culminating in a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University.
