Russell Childs is a Senior Software Engineer at Ripple Labs since 2014, with extensive experience in software engineering and physics research spanning from 1993 to the present. Childs has contributed to foundational physics and automated multi-threading in R&D roles while developing query distribution for Bing Search at Microsoft. Previous positions include work on entropy and error-correction encodings, development of ATE simulation frameworks at Advantest R&D, and ASIC functional modeling at Sun Microsystems. Additional experience includes designing fault-tolerant C++ software for air traffic control at EDS and physics modeling for naval nuclear propulsion at Rolls-Royce. Childs holds a PhD in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Birmingham and a BSc in Physics from the University of Liverpool.
