Ira Weiss

Ira Weiss serves as a General Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners, an early-stage venture fund focusing on software startups in the Midwest since December 2011. In addition, Ira has been a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and Accounting at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business since July 2006, educating MBA students on venture capital investing and related subjects. Ira holds the position of Vice Chairman at the Illinois Venture Capital Association, which promotes a supportive environment for venture capital and private equity in Illinois. Involvement in various organizations includes serving as an Investor and Board Observer for Slip Robotics and HData, and as a Board Member for Secure Illinois Retirements, Audit Sight Inc., LandscapeHub, and RoadSync. Ira's academic credentials include an MBA and PhD in Accounting and Economics from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
