Marcel Verdonk has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Marcel currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Robin Radar Systems, where they lead sales, marketing, pre-sales, services, and project teams. Marcel specializes in radar and smart software solutions and services to detect drones, birds, and other small objects in the fields of Aviation, Defense & Security, and Energy.
Prior to their current role, Marcel worked at Motorola Solutions for a significant portion of their career. Marcel held various leadership positions, including Sales Vice President for Software & Video - International Markets, Sales Vice President & Regional GM for Asia, Senior Director for Pre-Sales, Solutions & Services Sales - Asia Pacific, Director of Strategy - Asia Pacific, Strategy Manager - Europe, Middle East & Africa, Global Product Manager, and Strategy Manager - Asia Pacific. In these roles, Marcel demonstrated their expertise in sales, business development, strategy development, and M&A planning & integration. Marcel successfully led nationwide communications infrastructure deals, made key hires and appointments, rebalanced teams for growth initiatives, and led acquisitions.
Additionally, Marcel worked at WEMAR as the Director for Indonesia, where they provided market research and strategic advisory services to multinational and local firms. Marcel also served as a Project Manager during their time at WEMAR.

We are Robin Radar Systems. Netherlands-based technology leader in radar systems for tracking and classification of small targets. We do that by combining affordable sensors with smart software. Our mission is to provide actionable information that increases safety for both humans and wildlife. Bird Strike Prevention in Aviation We developed bird radar systems to monitor and store bird movements around the clock up, to 10 kilometres, all around. The information is dispatched real time onto tablets in Bird Control Vehicles as well as logged for analysis afterwards. This significantly enhances awareness and provides management information about trends, new hotspots and the overall effectiveness in terms of objective KPI’s. Bird Monitoring in Wind Farms In a growing amount of cases, a permit to build a wind farm is given under the pre-condition that bird movements are monitored 24/7 during pre and post construction of the park. Then, a bird radar becomes a permanent part of the wind farms’ infrastructure. In some cases a ‘start-stop-mechanism’ is required: the Robin system monitors bird movements in real time, and is able to automatically shut down individual turbines to mitigate mortality. Drone Detection in Critical Environments Small Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAV’s) or ‘drones’ pose a lot of new opportunities, but they also bring severe safety and security threats. Demand for high-performing drone detection and intervention methods continues to increase. Our purpose-built drone detection radars, ELVIRA® and IRIS® can automatically distinguish birds from drones. These systems are sold via larger system integrators in the defense & security industry.
