Gaia Trincucci is an accomplished scientific editor and researcher with extensive experience in functional genomics and virology. Currently, Gaia serves as the Deputy Editor and Senior Scientific Editor at the Journal of Experimental Medicine at The Rockefeller University since July 2018. Prior to this role, Gaia held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, focusing on identifying novel players in cell death pathways and developing RNAi screens for hepatitis B virus. Additional postdoctoral experience includes work at the University of Geneva, studying insulin resistance related to hepatitis C virus, and a PhD from the University of Basel, which centered on the interferon signaling pathway in chronic HCV infection. Gaia's early research included identifying genetic elements linked to lung cancer at the IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori Foundation.
