Simon Hackett

Simon Hackett is a Ground Systems Engineer I - Mechanical at Rocket Lab, with experience in designing and developing mechanical systems for launch sites and mobile equipment since March 2021. Previously, Simon held roles at Rocket Lab as a Junior Ground Systems Engineer and Junior Mechanical Designer, focusing on vehicle interfaces and fluid systems. Simon contributed to the University of Victoria Rocketry team as an Aerostructure Member, leading R&D on the Filament Winder project and enhancing modular fin designs. Additionally, Simon interned as a Launch Pad Systems Intern at Rocket Lab and completed co-op positions at Gregory C. Marshall Naval Architect Ltd. and Madill Equipment Canada. Simon holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria, completed in 2020.
