Donae McPherson

Donae McPherson, MAT, currently serves as the Assistant Principal of STEM at Rocketship Public Schools, a position held since July 2019, where responsibilities include designing and leading STEM instruction for first-grade students and facilitating professional development for first-year teachers through Teach Like a Champion skills labs. Prior to this role, Donae was a 1st Grade Teacher and Kindergarten Math Teacher at the same institution, developing inquiry-based STEM curricula for young learners. Previously, as a Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough Houston at Connect Community, Donae taught 7th Grade Pre-Algebra and Computer Science while also leading family engagement initiatives. Donae holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fisk University.
