Alireza Azami, Ph.D., is a seasoned expert in geomechanics with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as the Director of Research and Director of Business and Research at Rocscience since September 2010, Azami also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto as of August 2023. Previously, Azami was a Research Assistant at McMaster University from September 2004 to August 2010 and worked as a Geomechanics Specialist at Moshanir Power Engineering Consultants from September 2003 to August 2004. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geomechanics from McMaster University (2004-2009) and a Master of Science (MSc) in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2001-2003).
