Mohamud Abdi has worked for various organizations in different roles. From September 2014 to June 2015, they served as a Health and Nutrition Officer for Candlelight for Environment Education and Health. Mohamud then moved up to the role of Health and Nutrition Project Manager from July 2015 to June 2018 in the same organization. Starting in July 2018, they worked as a Project Manager for World Vision until July 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Country Programme Officer (CPO) at the Norwegian Red Cross, starting from October 2021.

Mohamud Abdi completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Jiangsu University between 2011 and 2017. In 2020 and 2021, they pursued a Master's degree (MSc) in International Public Health, specializing in Sexual and Reproductive Health, at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

En moderne hjelpeorganisasjon Norges Røde Kors er en moderne hjelpeorganisasjon med ca 150 000 medlemmer. Organisasjonen ble stiftet den 22. september 1865 av statsminister Frederik Stang, og er en av de eldste nasjonale Røde Kors-foreningene. I 1907 ble den autorisert av Det Kgl. Forsvarsdepartement som en frivillig hjelpeforening for den militære saniteten i tilfelle krig.
