Role

• As a seasoned product engineer you will play a leading role in shaping and developing a new, greenfield product for our partners (restaurants, grocers etc).
• Being hands on and building solutions as part of an intentionally small product-centric team focused on solving problems faced by delivery drivers and partners offering hyperlocal, on demand delivery.
• Work side-by-side with design through the full product development lifecycle from ideation to release.
• Be responsible for leading projects and shipping milestones.
• Create an inclusive engineering culture from the ground up.

You

Build great products: We are looking for people who are product-oriented and care about how people will use and interact with the software they’re building.

Are a brilliant engineer: 8+ years of experience developing software with most of it being in React or similar frontend frameworks.

Are comfortable with ambiguity: Things change quickly and often. You’re happy to tackle problems without a clear definition or solution. Asking the right questions and collaborating with the team to get clarity.

Advocate for simplicity: You prefer simple solutions, always weighing the various trade-offs. You know when to move fast and when to do things right.

Communicate clearly: Whether it’s writing a spec, asking questions or explaining a problem, you can articulate your thoughts clearly.

Are humble: Bring good energy and humility into everything you do.

Benefits

• Salary: £80-100k+
• Equity: early-stage package of meaningful equity as part of low-tax EMI scheme.
• Work style: ideally you would make it into our office at least once per week but we’re flexible.

Selection Process

1. Founder interview (30 mins) for introductions and for each of us to assess whether there’s a good fit.
2. Coding exercise (1h) with some of the engineering team you would be working with.
3. Technical interview (1h) with our CTO (Ali), who will tell you more about the role and gauge your technical skills and experience.
4. Product exercise (1h) to understand how you make engineering decisions with the product and user experience in mind, and also how you collaborate and communicate with your teammates.
5. Final round for you to meet the rest of the team and get to know each other better, perhaps over breakfast, lunch, coffee or whatever works.
