Balbir Dhamrait

Balbir (Bal) Dhamrait has over 27 years of experience in telecommunications, currently serving as Sr. Manager Engineering IMS, voice and advanced Services at Rogers Communications since November 2009. In this role, Bal leads the assessment of new technology and the planning of 3-5 year network IMS and 4G/5G evolution strategies, collaborating closely with business and product teams. Prior roles at Rogers Communications include directing multi-disciplined teams for vendor roadmap product reviews and overseeing the implementation of advanced Core IMS technologies. Bal's career began at Rogers Wireless Inc, where as Manager Switch Engineering, the architected strategy enabled a rapid national network deployment of GSM and WCDMA/HSPA technology. Bal holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng. Honours) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Manchester Metropolitan University and has also studied at the University of Toronto.
