Harmen Tiddens has an extensive work experience in various industries. Harmen started their career as a lawyer at Van Dam & Kruidenier Advocaten in 2005. Harmen then moved on to work as a Legal Counsel at Smit Internationale N.V. from 2009 to 2012. Tiddens then joined Smit Lamnalco as a Commercial Manager for Africa, where they led the commercial efforts for West Africa. In 2014, they became a Steering Group Member for the Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC) - Port Development Partnership. In 2016, Tiddens joined Mammoet as a Senior Commercial Manager for Africa, and later took on the roles of General Manager for West Africa and Manager of Sales & Business Development. In 2022, they left Mammoet to pursue their dream of developing a new company focused on supporting clients' projects in Africa, and completed their Executive MBA at Rotterdam School of Management. Currently, Tiddens is the Managing Director for Altra Africa, where they support clients in business development, market entry/expansion strategies, and management of joint ventures. Harmen also serves as the Managing Director of Roll Africa at Roll Group, where they develop and implements strategies for heavy shipping/transportation/lifting/installation projects.

Harmen Tiddens completed an Executive MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they attained a Law degree with a focus on Civil law from Utrecht University, graduating in 2005.

The BigRoll vessels are ice-classed and designed with a focus on high ballasting capacity, low fuel consumption, high service speed and great seakeeping behaviour, resulting in lower acceleration forces on the cargo. On the land side Roll‐Lift operates a large number of modern heavy lift cranes, Self-Propelled Modular Trailers (SPMT’s) and Conventional Trailers. The specific characteristics of Roll Group’s asset base ensures the ability to serve a wide range of markets, such as: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy, Power, Civil Construction, Dredging and Naval. Transporting heavy and voluminous cargoes can be a challenge. Working in close cooperation with our clients and using our in-house engineering capability, Roll Group has the ability to advise on the best design choices for modules, transportation options and preferred routings.
