Tomoya Masanao

Managing Director in the Tokyo office and co-head of Asia-Pacific portfolio management of PIMCO, he co-oversees the portfolio management teams in the region and manages clients’ assets. He is also a core member of the PIMCO's Asia-Pacific Portfolio Committee. His interests in philanthropic activities grew as he traveled in the emerging Asia. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2001 in the Newport Beach office in California, Tomoya was an executive director and senior portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London. He was also with The Sumitomo Bank in Osaka, Tokyo and London. He holds an MBA from Boston University, and a master's degree and an undergraduate degree, both in engineering, from Osaka University.
