Nikhil Verma

Nikhil Verma is a Machine Learning Engineer at Roots Automation since February 2023, focusing on document understanding using large language models. Nikhil gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at New York University from September 2021 to December 2022, working on Mandarin Speech Recognition under Professor Michael Picheny, and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Computer Vision course. Prior to that, Nikhil contributed as a Deep Learning Engineer at FlixStock, where the team developed GAN-based methods for generating photorealistic fashion images, and as a Staff Research Engineer at IBM, creating innovative frameworks for question answering. Nikhil also held roles at Microsoft as a Research Intern, at IBM as a Research Intern, and at the Department of Visual Media at BITS Pilani as Coordinator and Backend Developer. Educational credentials include an MS in Computer Science from New York University and a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
