Alexey Smirnov has a strong background in legal support and affairs, with experience in various companies. Alexey served as the Director for Legal support of business at Roust from 2014. Prior to that, they were the Head of Legal at United Grain Company OJSC for a brief period in 2013. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as the Deputy Director, Legal Affairs at Russian Standard Vodka. Alexey spent a significant amount of time at Razgulay Group, where they held multiple roles including Head of Legal Department (Grain Division) from 2007 to 2010, Head of investment & corporate division in legal department of Grain Division from 2006 to 2007, and Senior lawyer of investment & corporate division / Specialist in acquisitions from 2001 to 2006.
Alexey Smirnov attended Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) from 1995 to 2000, where they studied "Meh-mat" (presumably Mechanical Mathematics) but did not earn a degree. Alexey then went on to study at the Institute of International Law and Economics named after A.S. Griboedova from 2003 to 2007, majoring in Law but also not receiving a degree.
