At Rovio Toronto we are a small and mighty team of passionate gamers. We have a knack for working with high profile brands and taking them to new heights in highly enjoyable and fresh games. Our current focus is mobile with aspirations to explore other platforms in the mid/long term as we recognize new opportunities in our constantly evolving market. You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

• Work in a wide range of styles and designs that are appealing and intuitive UIs for our games.
• Research, design, implement, defend and challenge new UI/UX assets and features such as, but not limited to, sketches, mockups, wireframes, UI animations/VFX and 2D UI assets.
• Integrate, test, and debug UI assets into Unity.
• Collaborate with other artists, designers, and programmers and ensure that UI features and systems work as intended.
• Collaborate with the Art Director in establishing the visual direction for our games.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

• You have a growth mindset. You are always looking to learn new skills. What you’re good at: you want to get better. What you don’t know: you want to learn.
• Experience working in the mobile gaming industry.
• Expert knowledge in 2D digital content applications (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience in UI animation/motion design and UI VFX.
• Experience in creating logos and icons.
• Working knowledge of 3D software and workflow (Blender preferred).
• Previous experience working as a UI artist in Unity.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Be a champion and ambassador for quality and excellence within the Art Department.
• Empathy and ability to understand the point of view of others, especially the players.
• Business level spoken and written English proficiency.
