Mike Shewring

Conservation Scientist at RSPB

Mike Shewring is an accomplished conservation scientist and ecologist with extensive experience in ecological research and project management. Currently, Mike works with RSPB Scotland, focusing on Earth Observation data to assess upland ecosystem health. Alongside this role, Mike provides freelance consultancy services as an ornithologist and serves as a peatland ecologist on the Lost Peatlands of South Wales project. Past positions include Principal Consultant at RPS UK & Republic of Ireland and Senior Environmental Consultant at Natural Power, where Mike managed ecological projects across Wales and the South West of England. Mike has a PhD in Ecology from Cardiff University, an MSc in Environmental Biology from Swansea University, and a BSc (Hons) in Ecology from Cardiff University.
