Steve has been a Police officer for 33.5 years. He is currently seconded to the Metropolitan Police Force and Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters. His national portfolio covers, CT Borders, Firearms intelligence, Prisons, Negotiators, ANPR and Regional Liaison officers.
Prior to his secondment he was Head of Investigations within Counter Terrorism Policing in the North East. DCS Bennetts home Force is West Yorkshire, where he previously held responsibility for Covert Policing, Professional Standards and Firearms intelligence and investigations.
At CTPHQ he has headed numerous projects to improve efficiency and also introduce innovation. He is also a member of the Leadership in Counter Terrorism alumni.
