Richard Waghorn is a seasoned leader in technology and operations within the broadcasting industry, currently serving as CTO and Director of Operations at RTÉ since February 2012. At RTÉ, Richard oversees a team of 600, focusing on enhancing performance and value across the organization. Richard holds various non-executive roles, including positions at MULTIPLEX BROADCASTING SERVICES N.I. LIMITED and 2rn. Richard's previous experience includes significant roles at SABC as Chief Technology Officer, where leadership of the technology division encompassed digital agendas and production facilities, as well as a tenure at the BBC in strategic positions that influenced major initiatives in distribution and digital transitions. Educational credentials include an MBA from Henley Business School and a BA in Geography and Public Media from the University of Leeds.
