Michael Heaton has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. In 2013, they worked as a Sales Representative at Brown Murray Real Estate until November 2016. Following this, they joined Pearce Racing in July 2016 as a Communications Manager. In March 2016, they also became a Jockey Agent for WA Racing. In December 2018, they began working at Racing & Wagering WA (RWWA) as a Content Presenter and in November 2018, they took on the role of Feature Writer. Michael's experience includes roles in communications, sales, and content creation.
Michael Heaton completed their Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Curtin University from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended John Paul College in Kalgoorlie from 2005 to 2009. Michael completed their primary education at St. Mary's Primary School in Kalgoorlie from 1997 to 2004.

Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) is a dynamic, versatile and commercial organisation that operates in meeting and furthering the needs of the racing and wagering industry in Western Australia. Our purpose is to ensure the long-term sustainability of the WA racing industry and we achieve this goal through being the controlling authority for the three racing codes of thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing in Western Australia as well as incorporating wagering through the TAB. We are unique to other racing and wagering jurisdiction across Australia which provides various opportunities and benefits for our customers, the racing industry, employees and stakeholders.
