Sonia Pires

Sonia Pires, CHRP, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sonia'smost recent position was with SSENSE, where they served as the Director of People Operations & Global Mobility since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Manager of People Operations from August 2020 to January 2022. Additionally, they worked as a Human Resources Manager from February 2017 to August 2020 and as a Human Resources Business Partner from October 2015 to February 2017 for the same company.

Before joining SSENSE, Sonia Pires worked at magenta studio photo as a Senior HR Advisor from August 2011 to October 2015 and as an HR Advisor from August 2009 to August 2011. Sonia also had a brief stint as an HR Associate at Ultramar from January 2009 to August 2009.

Furthermore, they gained experience as an Immigration Officer at the Ministère de l'Immigration et des communautés Culturelles from June 2006 to December 2008 and as a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Adecco in 2006-2007. Sonia'searliest known work experience was as an HR Generalist at Speico Inc. from 2004 to 2005.

Sonia Pires, CHRP, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Université de Montréal, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. Sonia also completed a minor in Arts et Sciences from the same university in 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Licentiate degree in European Studies - International Affairs from Universidade do Porto from 2002 to 2004. In addition to their academic qualifications, Sonia has obtained several certifications, including a CHRP - CRHA certification from Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés in 2011, and certifications in Strategic Human Resources, Ram Charan on Coaching High Potentials, and Human Resources: Diversity Recruiting from LinkedIn, all in 2022.
