Sophia van Taak

Sophia van Taak is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in journalism, production, and editing. Currently serving as a Producer, Presenter, and Editor at SABC since May 2022, Sophia has been a key contributor to Media24 (Pty) Ltd since 2004, holding various roles such as Journalist for Weg/Go travel magazine, WegSleep camping and caravanning magazine, and Lifestyle Editor. Additionally, Sophia has experience as a Page Layout Artist and Journalist, along with a proofreading role at NB-Uitgewers/Publishers since 2010. Past positions include Researcher, Producer, and Presenter for the Weg! Agterpaaie travel programme at ViaTV from November 2017 to November 2019 and Web Editor at Media24 from August 2003 to February 2004. Sophia holds an Honours degree in Journalism from Stellenbosch University, earned between 1999 and 2002.
