Laurent Willems has a diverse work experience. Laurent began their career in 2012 with an internship at Techspace Aero. Laurent then worked as a student worker at ORES from 2010 to 2014. In 2015, they joined Sabena Aerospace, where they held various roles as a Project & Operations Development Engineer and later as a Project Development & Operations Monitoring Manager. Laurent also completed their Master's thesis at Sabena Aerospace during this time. In 2018, Laurent joined Brussels Airlines as a Maintenance Planning Manager until 2020. Laurent then worked at Sabena Engineering as an Operational Excellence Manager and later as a Planning, Records & IOC Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Managing Director at Sabena Engineering starting from September 2022. In 2019, they also served as a Professional Football Referee for the Royal Belgian Football Association.
Laurent Willems obtained a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from HELMo Gramme from 2009 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their high school education in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics at Königliches Athenäum Eupen from 2002 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Laurent also obtained certifications in BA4/BA5 Electrical habilitation from Technifutur in 2014 and Certificat Sécurité Cadres Opérationnels VCA from CTQ BeSaCC-VCA in September 2011.
