David James is a highly skilled engineering professional with extensive experience in automation and control systems. Currently serving as the Lead Control Systems Engineer at SAFEgroup Automation since April 2023, David previously held roles including Senior Control Systems Engineer and Automation Engineer at NZ Controls Ltd, where responsibilities encompassed project management, automation design, and health and safety leadership. David’s prior experience at Transpower New Zealand involved project engineering and technical support in substations, alongside diverse engineering roles that provided a broad understanding of the power industry. David's career began with design work at Vortex Engineering and foundational workshops at Seel Engineering. David holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Canterbury, earned between 2010 and 2013.
