Michael Burns has worked in various sales and executive roles since 2004. Michael began their career as Advertising Director for Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK in 2004 and was promoted to Director, Sales and Development in 2006. In 2008, they moved to Freedom Communications Inc. as Corporate Vice President of Sales and Market Development and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In 2015, they joined Lee Enterprises as Local Market President, Publisher and was responsible for leading a financial turnaround of a multi-site regional business operation. Michael then moved to Advance Local in 2017 as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and developed a GTM strategy that increased revenue and resource effectiveness resulting in a record year of margin growth. In 2020, they joined Fly Right as Chief Sales Officer and identified opportunities and corrected inefficiencies that drove revenue and increased team effectiveness. Most recently, in 2021, they joined SagaCity Media as SVP of Sales and created a sales strategy for the company to maximize tech-focused sales growth.
Michael Burns has a Master's in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University, where they studied Public Management. Michael also has a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Connecticut State University, where they studied Marketing and Communications.
