Carole Goble

Carole Goble, CBE, FREng, FBCS, is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Manchester, UK where leads a team of Researchers, Research Software Engineers and Data Stewards. She has spent 25 years working in e-Science on computational workflows, open and reproducible science, open sharing, and knowledge and metadata management in a range of disciplines, particularly the biosciences. She has led numerous e-Infrastructure projects and currently has several leadership roles in the pan-European Research Infrastructure for Life Science data, ELIXIR, and the European Open Science Cloud Biosciences cluster project, EOSC-Life. Carole is a co-founder of the UK’s Software Sustainability Institute, currently serves as the UK expert representative on the G7 Open Science Working Group, is a co-author of the original FAIR Guiding Principles for Scientific Data article and is a thought leader in FAIR Computational Workflows.
