Sonela Cavicke

Sonela Cavicke has a diverse work experience in the field of life sciences and biotechnology. Sonela is currently serving as the Vice President of Discovery Business Development at Sai Life Sciences Ltd, where they are responsible for business development and commercial strategy for drug discovery initiatives on the US West Coast. Prior to this, Sonela was the Co-Founder, Chief Scientific Officer, and Chief Commercial Officer at Charted Scientific. Sonela has also worked at Eurofins Discovery as the Regional Director of Business Development, managing a multimillion-dollar business in drug discovery services and products. Sonela has held various roles at MilliporeSigma, Invitrogen, Amgen, Merck, and Luminex, with responsibilities ranging from research application scientist to assay development specialist. Throughout their career, Sonela has demonstrated expertise in synthetic chemistry, in vitro pharmacology, cell-based phenotypic services, ADME/Tox, and preclinical safety and efficacy assessment. Sonela is also a board member and Vice President of Corporate Sponsorship at Canyon Crest Academy Foundation.

Sonela Cavicke has a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from The University of Texas at Austin (1995-1997), with a Masters degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the same university (1997-1998). Sonela also completed an MBA in Business from California Lutheran University (2005-2009). Additionally, they attended UC Santa Barbara from 1991-1993, but did not complete a degree in Biology.
