Erin Heffernan

Erin Heffernan is a Public Relations Specialist at Saint Louis Zoo since January 2024, with extensive experience in journalism. Prior to this role, Erin served as a Reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from June 2017 to January 2024, and as a Reporter for The Hilton Head Island Packet from August 2015 to June 2017, as well as The Galveston County Daily News between August 2014 and July 2015, focusing on local government and criminal justice. Additionally, Erin gained reporting experience as an intern at The Seattle Times and the O'Brien Fellowship for Public Service Journalism, as well as working as a Writing Tutor at Marquette University. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Writing Intensive) and Political Science from Marquette University and studied at The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies in 2012.
