David Harrison

David Harrison serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi since July 2023, concentrating on machine learning, data science, and computer networking. Prior to this role, David held the position of Chief Technology Officer and currently serves as CTO Emeritus at Samba TV from January 2009. David's engineering background includes significant contributions as a Senior Engineer at BitTorrent, Inc. from December 2005 to March 2009, where an architecture for a peer-to-peer video streaming protocol was developed. Additional academic experience includes a post-doctoral role at the Berkeley Video and Image Processing Lab at UC Berkeley (2003-2004) and various positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1996 to 2002 while completing a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Academic credentials also encompass a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
