Derek Weisbender

Derek Weisbender is a distinguished attorney currently serving as a Partner at Allen Matkins since September 2016 and as a Reserve Deputy with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department since December 2007. With extensive experience in real estate, contract, and business litigation, Derek has represented clients in complex commercial disputes, providing outside general counsel to various real estate firms and businesses. Prior roles include Associate Attorney at Cummins & White, LLP, and Green & Hall, APC, where significant litigation achievements involved settling matters exceeding one hundred million dollars in potential liability. An alumnus of the University of San Diego School of Law, Derek holds a Juris Doctor and has a background in psychology and political science from UCLA.
