Tricia McMahon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Tricia McMahon has held various roles with the San Diego County Sheriff's office, starting as a Detentions Processing Technician in 1999 and progressing to the role of Sheriff's Operations Supervisor until 2021. In these roles, they were responsible for conducting assessments of technology issues, troubleshooting and resolving computer hardware and software problems, providing training sessions to users, and assisting in the selection and implementation of computer solutions. Additionally, Tricia designed and maintained the Sheriff's office website, ensuring compliance with County policies and procedures. In 2022, they joined Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) San Diego as the Vice President of the San Diego Affiliate, and in 2023, they became the President of the organization.
Tricia McMahon earned their Ph.D. of Philosophy in Cybersecurity from Northcentral University in 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree with a specialization in Cybersecurity - Information Assurance and Security Policy at National University. Tricia also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Management with a specialization in Project Management from National University. Tricia McMahon obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology Management and an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Business Administration and Management, both from National University as well.
Tricia McMahon has obtained several certifications related to cybersecurity. Tricia McMahon earned the (ISC)2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Cert Prep certification from LinkedIn in April 2023. In November 2022, they became an (ISC)² candidate and an ISC candidate. Additionally, they completed the Cyber Security Bootcamp for Woman - Credential of Completion provided by ICTTF - International Cyber Threat Task Force in November 2022. Tricia also holds a NSA CAE Program Certificate of Completion in MS Cybersecurity from National University, which was obtained in April 2022.
Furthermore, Tricia has acquired various certifications and completed courses in agile project management, security frameworks, IT security, and other related topics. These certifications and courses were obtained from institutions such as LinkedIn and Cloud Academy, Inc.
