Ricardo Lopez

Ricardo Lopez has had a distinguished career with the San Diego County Sheriff's Office since October 1995, currently serving as Assistant Sheriff within the Law Enforcement Services Bureau. Previous roles include Commander of Support and Patrol Operations, Captain at Vista Patrol Station and Fallbrook Substation, and Captain of the Emergency Services Division overseeing critical units such as SWAT and Search and Rescue. Earlier positions include Lieutenant as Media Relations Director and Substation Commander, Sergeant in the Special Investigations Division and Patrol Supervisor, as well as various roles as a Gang Task Force Officer and Investigator. Ricardo commenced a career in law enforcement with the San Diego County Probation as a Corrections Deputy Probation Officer. Academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University and completion of the FBI National Academy.
