Michael Lambert

Michael Lambert currently serves as the City Librarian for the San Francisco Public Library since March 2014, where responsibilities include directing library goals and policies, overseeing operations, and coordinating with city departments. Previously, Michael held roles as Acting City Librarian and Deputy City Librarian, contributing to policy development and budget oversight. Prior experience includes Deputy Director of Library Services at San Mateo County Library and Library Manager at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, among other positions in various libraries. Michael holds a Master's Degree in Library Science and a B.A. in History from the University of South Carolina, along with additional educational credentials in public library administration and leadership from various institutions.
