Manager, Alternative Water Supply Program at San Francisco Public Utilities Commission

Manisha Kothari is an experienced water resources professional currently serving as the Manager for the Alternative Water Supply Program at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) since 2006, focusing on sustainable water supply development. Previously held the position of Senior Water Resources Planner, overseeing projects related to recycled water, potable reuse, and desalination. Manisha is also a 2021 USA Fellow with Eisenhower Fellowships, a program that fosters global exchange among leaders. As the founder of Wishwrap, Inc., from 2007 to 2010, Manisha created an innovative online gift-giving platform. Earlier career experiences include roles as a Senior Planner for URS Corporation, engaging in planning and environmental review, and serving as the Country Manager for South and Southeast Asia at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. Educational achievements include a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Berkeley.
