Ed Horton

Ed Horton currently serves as the Director of the Maritime Commercial Program at San Jacinto College, a position held since April 2018, where responsibilities include planning course offerings aligned with industry needs and US Coast Guard requirements, and fostering connections between industry and the Texas Workforce Commission for grant development. Prior to this role, Ed Horton spent eight years as an instructor and Deck Department Head at Mid Atlantic Maritime Academy, focusing on training students for maritime careers in areas such as navigation and chartwork. Ed Horton also has a distinguished 30-year career in the US Navy, culminating in the role of Master Chief Quartermaster. Educational qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and Management from Excelsior University and a Merchant Mariner License obtained from Mid Atlantic Maritime Academy.
