Eric Kapilik has held various roles in the engineering and software development fields. In 2017, they were a Junior Software Developer at KORE Telematics where they increased automated test case coverage by 15% and contributed to other projects. Eric also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Tutor at the University of Manitoba, and a Co-Op Engineering Student at Manitoba Hydro, where they automated manual tasks and developed a prototype machine learning project. In 2019, they were a Co-Op Computer Engineering Student at JCA Electronics, where they developed a perception platform for autonomous agricultural machinery, and a Rocketry Avionics Team Member at the University of Manitoba Space Applications and Technology Society (UMSATS). In 2020, they were an Electrical Hardware Developer for the Space Technology Advanced Research (STAR) Laboratory and a Systems Engineer I and II at JCA Technologies, where they developed ROS 2 nodes and integrated perception systems into autonomous vehicle projects. Most recently, in 2022, they began working as a Software Engineer at Sanctuary AI, where they are working to create the world's first human-like intelligence in general-purpose robots.

Eric Kapilik obtained a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Computer Engineering from the University of Manitoba between 2016 and 2021. Eric also holds an Amateur Radio Operator Certificate - Basic from the Government of Canada, which they obtained in May 2020.
