Liz Withey

Liz Withey has extensive experience in materials science and engineering, serving in various roles at Sandia National Laboratories since 2014, including Research and Development Team Lead and Qualification Lead. As Team Lead, Liz manages a multidisciplinary team focused on technology maturation for national security applications, enhancing team dynamics and optimizing work scope amid funding challenges. Previous roles included postdoctoral researcher positions at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and UC Berkeley, where Liz specialized in thin film materials and failure analysis. Additional academic experience includes lecturing at UC Berkeley and volunteering at the Chabot Space & Science Center. Liz holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley and a BS in the same field from Purdue University.
