Thys Pretorius

Thys Pretorius is an experienced data engineering competency lead at Sanlam Investments, responsible for the design and implementation of various business intelligence projects utilizing technologies such as Microsoft SQL, PowerBI, and SAP Hana. Previously, Thys served as a business intelligence system analyst at Old Mutual Limited, where automation and integration of datasets were primary responsibilities. Thys also worked as a business intelligence consultant at Saratoga, focusing on customer engagement and data governance solutions. Earlier experience includes roles as a partner at One Waterloo, system architect at Integer, and team leader at Digiata, complemented by foundational programming work. Thys holds a postgraduate diploma in distributed information systems from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in informatics from the University of Pretoria.
