Previous roles include Chief Financial Officer at ARTEMIS Augenkliniken und med. Versorgungszentren and AMEOS Gruppe, as well as Managing Director of Westdeutsches Protonentherapiezentrum Essen. Dr. Wendel has also held the position of Deputy Administrative Director at Universitätsklinikum Essen and worked as a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Political Sciences with a focus on Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, along with an Associate's degree in Economics from The University of Freiburg.
