Tang Tiong Ing has been a Non Independent Non-Executive Director since 16 June 1995. He serves as a member of the Group Audit and Risk Management Committee and Nomination Committee. He graduated from University of Malaya with Bachelor in Accounting with Honours. He is a Chartered Accountant (Malaysia) and is a member of several professional bodies including the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and Fellow Certified Practicing Accountants of Australia and Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries.
His career started from Lau Hoi Chew & Co., a Certified Public Accounting firm in 1984 and was promoted to head the Miri Branch in 1985 till 1990. In 1991, he joined Shin Yang Group as a Group Accountant to oversee all the financial and accounting functions, corporate taxation, treasury, corporate planning and company secretarial function of the diversified Shin Yang Group.

Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad is an investment holding company. The Company is engaged in the cultivation of oil palms and the operations of palm oil mills. Its segments include Oil palm and Property development. Its business divisions include plantation, milling, downstream, marketing and trading, and property developments. Its upstream of oil palm estates and mills are located in the state of Sarawak. The upstream operation of Miri-based plantation company includes the development of oil palm plantations, cultivation of oil palms, management of estates, milling of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels. It has over six mills practice sustainability by processing FFB into crude palm oil CPO. Its Physical Refinery and Fractionation Plant produces over 1, 500 metric tons per day. Its subsidiary, SOP Properties Sdn. Bhd., focuses on developing building homes, and developing self-contained properties, which consist of residentials, commercials and public amenities.
