Robin Smith

Robin Smith serves as the Director of Sustainability-Led Integrated Centres of Excellence (SLICE) at Saskatchewan Polytechnic since December 2021, leading a team focused on advancing sustainability in agriculture, energy, forestry, and manufacturing. Prior experience includes serving as Academic Chair for Applied Research Operations at the CIHR Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health, and Programs Manager at the University of Calgary, where responsibilities encompassed promoting faculty grant applications and managing the External Grants group. Robin's career also features roles such as Senior Research Grants Officer at Athabasca University, Community Research Facilitator at First Nations University of Canada, Collections Assistant at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and Research Officer with the Government of British Columbia. Academic credentials include a PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Saskatchewan, an MA, and a BA in Environmental Studies/Anthropology.
