Cherise Arnesen

Cherise Arnesen is currently the Director at SaskEnergy. Prior to this, they held the position of Audit & Finance Committee Member at Innovation Place (SOCO) from November 2018 to June 2022. Cherise has also been a University Instructor at the First Nations University of Canada from January 2007 to December 2011. In this role, they instructed adult learners enrolled in the Nursing Education Program of Saskatchewan (NEPS) at Prince Albert Northern campus, as well as facilitated group labs in NEPS 112 and NEPS 114. The curriculum for this program included communication skills and organizational behavior. Cherise also has experience working in the private sector, as well as with Results Cosmetic & Wellness Therapies and Canadian Goal Achievement Services. It was through their work with Canadian Goal Achievement Services that Cherise developed and facilitated the Indigenous Leadership Program Curriculum Development, after identifying a gap in adult education curriculum. The Leadership skills training program focused on First Nations young people and was designed to promote confident engagement in the workforce. Cherise facilitated this program in Indigenous communities and organizations across Saskatchewan, and was responsible for writing grant proposals and funding applications to assist in the procurement of program funding.

Cherise Arnesen has a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Saskatchewan. Cherise is currently completing a Risk Management Certificate at Simon Fraser University and is expected to finish in late Fall 2023. Cherise is also enrolled in a Cybersecurity and Executive Strategy program at Stanford Continuing Studies. In the future, they plan to obtain a Board Oversight of Cybersecurity certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors and a Board Oversight of AI (Artificial Intelligence) certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
