Ruijia (Ray) Wang has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Starting from 2006, they co-founded and served as a board member for the Student Engineer's Abroad Council at Virginia Tech. Following this, they worked as a PhD intern R&D at Procter & Gamble, where they developed innovative methodologies for identifying and screening potential performance benefits in consumer product formulations.
In 2010, Ruijia served as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at Virginia Tech, followed by a role as a Visiting Research Scientist at the National Energy Technology Laboratory.
From 2011 to 2017, they worked at Harcros Chemicals in multiple positions, including Director for Marketing, Asia-Pacific, and Global Key Project Manager. During their time there, they successfully led a joint venture specialty chemical manufacturing plant project and initiated international collaboration in R&D.
In 2016, Ruijia founded and became the president of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association East China Chapter. Additionally, they held the position of Deputy General Manager at Advanced-Harcros, a Harcros Joint Venture in China.
Currently, since September 2017, Ruijia is the Head of Strategic Business Development for Asia at Sasol, where they are responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives in the region.
Throughout their career, Ruijia has demonstrated strong leadership abilities, innovative thinking, and effective collaboration in various roles and industries.
Ruijia (Ray) Wang obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Central South University between 2001 and 2005. Later, from 2005 to 2010, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science at Virginia Tech. Currently, Ruijia is pursuing a Master's Degree in EMBA at Peking University, which is expected to be completed between 2020 and 2023.
