Director Of Advocacy at Save The Bay - Narragansett Bay

Jed Thorp currently serves as the Director of Advocacy at Save The Bay - Narragansett Bay, a position held since June 2024. Prior to this role, Thorp was the Rhode Island Director at Clean Water Action from May 2022 to July 2024 and previously worked as the Advocacy Coordinator at Save The Bay from March 2019 to May 2022. Thorp's extensive experience in environmental advocacy includes roles such as Membership Manager at The Public's Radio, Grant Writer at Save The Bay, and Director of the Ohio Chapter of the Sierra Club. Thorp began a career in public information at the Ohio EPA and held early positions at Sierra Club and Clean Water Action, starting as an Energy Campaign Coordinator. Thorp holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from The University of British Columbia and a BA in Political Science and International Studies from The University of Findlay.

Save The Bay protects, restores, and improves the ecological health of the Narragansett Bay region, including its watershed and adjacent coastal waters, through an ecosystem-based approach to environmental action; defends the right of the public to use and enjoy the Bay and its surrounding waters; and fosters an ethic of environmental stewardship among people who live in or visit the Narragansett Bay region.
