Head, Rail Engineering & Performance at SBS Transit

Er. Foo Jang Kae is the Head of Engineering and Performance for the Rail division of SBS Transit. An experienced railway engineer, his primary specialization areas are Rolling Stock and the railway power systems. He had also headed the engineering division of all the three rail lines - Downtown Line, North-East Line, and the Sengkang Punggol Light Rail Transit systems - in his 20 years with the Company.

Before joining SBS Transit, he spent eight years in the electrical power industry.

A British High Commission Raffles Scholar, he graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UK). He holds a First Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Strathclyde University (UK).

He is both a registered Professional Engineer and a Licensed Electrical Engineer in Singapore. A Chartered Engineer with both the Engineering Council UK and the Institution of Engineers, Singapore, he is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Singapore. He is also involved in the education of future engineers, serving as a member of the Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) of the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Electrical Power Engineering Programme.
