Alemu Nenko is a seasoned professional in social policy and homelessness research, currently associated with the BC Public Service since February 2024. With extensive experience as an Operations Manager at Scandinavian Building Services since July 2018, Alemu has successfully negotiated and managed service contracts while overseeing budget forecasts. Previous roles include serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, where Alemu conducted literature reviews, applied research methods, and published articles. Alemu's academic background includes notable positions as a University Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer at Haramaya University, contributing to various research projects and curriculum developments in agricultural education. Alemu holds advanced degrees in Rural Sociology and Development from the University of Alberta and Wageningen University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension from Haramaya University. Currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Planning at Langara College, Alemu continues to enhance expertise in the field.
