Thijn Brummelkamp

Thijn Brummelkamp has extensive work experience in the field of genetics and biomedical research. Thijn is currently serving as a Professor of Experimental Genetics at Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht, a role they have held since March 2017. Thijn is also a Co-Founder of Scenic Biotech, a position they have held since the same time. Additionally, Thijn Brummelkamp is a Group leader at Oncode Institute, a position they assumed in 2017.

Prior to their current roles, they were a Group leader at The Netherlands Cancer Institute since January 2011. Thijn founded Haplogen in 2010 and served as a Founder. Before that, they were an Adjunct Principal Investigator at CeMM from December 2010 to March 2022. Thijn began their career as a Whitehead Fellow at Whitehead Institute in December 2004, a position they held until December 2010.

Thijn Brummelkamp obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biology from Free University in Amsterdam, where they attended from 1993 to 1998. Thijn later pursued a PhD at the Netherlands Cancer Institute/Utrecht University, specializing in Cancer Research, and completed it from 1998 to 2003.
