Tan Yong Chai

Tan Yong Chai is a Senior Facilities Engineer at SCHOTT since January 2022, overseeing the operation and maintenance of various water and wastewater treatment plants while ensuring compliance with quality, environmental health and safety (EHS), and Department of Environment (DOE) requirements. Prior to this role, Tan served as an Environment Officer, managing scheduled waste and environmental compliance, and advising management on EHS policies. With a background as a Chemical & Environmental Engineer at Malakoff Corporation Berhad from November 2015 to January 2022, responsibilities included leading environmental compliance initiatives and engaging stakeholders on environmental issues. Early career experience includes positions as a Performance Engineer and Chemist, and an internship focused on oil refining processes. Tan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from University Malaysia Pahang.
